About Anna

Anna Lucas is a Surrey-based artist whose work explores the cinematic, emotional power of landscape. She studied Fine Art at the BRIT School before graduating from the University of the Arts, developing a practice rooted in both technical discipline and personal narrative.

Drawing inspiration from the wide open spaces and vast landscapes of the American West, Anna's paintings are suspended in time. Her landscapes are imbued with quiet intensity, suggesting a story that extends far beyond the frame. Boundless skies, shifting plains of light and open roads are recurring motifs - elements that transform familiar scenery into something powerful and evocative.

Influenced by the storytelling tradition of Country music, Anna approaches painting as a way of recording our memories. Much like a song that endures long after it ends, her artwork invites viewers to pause and reflect, capturing feelings both intimate and expansive.
